Oil + Sugar = Weight Gain .

Atleast to me it is .

So , I try to do my best to stay away from them as much as possible during the weekdays . However , weekends are  altogether a different story (Let’s , not go there !)

Zac is  19 months now ,  I need to lose   a few  kilos .With all the food that I am surrounded with , it is so hard  to resist . SELF CONTROL  is what I need , right now     or, better still, this diet spoon.

In the quest to lose weight  I have been trying  out some  healthier  breakfast options which is quick , convenient and doesn’t  feel like I am missing out on my  toasted   nut- butter sandwich.  And, I have found one –‘Weight Loss Berry Banana  Smoothie’

  • 1/2 cup frozen berries
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 2 tbsp ground flaxseeds /1 tsp. flax seed oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chia seeds
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 Banana , peeled and sliced
  • 1 tbps Protein Powder (optional)
  • ¼ unsweetened coconut water
  • Powerful Blender –  Ninja or Nutribullet

Directions :

Blend  the frozen berries and the almond milk  first  , followed by flax seeds, chia seeds, cinnamon , and the sliced  banana. Add coconut water if the consistency is too thick. Scrape down the sides and  blend again .

Personally I don’t like to add  protein powder to my smoothies , but you can by all means add this if  you need more energy or protein to pull through your mornings .

Protein powder can be substituted  with 2 tablespoons of plain  yoghurt  .
